"I have just had my last session with Kirstin and it is a very bittersweet moment……
In October 2023, I found myself in a profoundly dark place. I was tormented by childhood demons that on reflection have crippled my life until now. I was recommended to Kirstin, and I was sceptical about starting therapy (again) as it had not helped me (so many times) before. I had no need for scepticism, Kirstin offered a kind, compassionate and non-judgemental hand for me to take. She gave me the space and time to be honest and authentic, not just with her but with myself, something I have never previously been able to achieve. Over the weeks and months, Kirstin has worked tirelessly and compassionately with me to discover more about myself than I have managed alone in the 53 years prior to meeting her. She is a truly incredible person who has enabled me to see light where there was darkness and joy where there was crippling pain.
In a nutshell, Kirstin has helped me to turn my life around, where I now see the extraordinary value in my relationships with others, look forward to waking up rather than going to sleep and, most importantly, a deep rooted connection and love for myself.
I said at the beginning of this note, that this is a bittersweet moment. Kirstin has been such an important person in my life for the last year or so, that to leave our precious time together is difficult. However, I now have the tools and understanding to rely on myself to face the good and challenging times to come. Thank you for your support, your honesty, your kindness and your extraordinary talent to discover the parts of me that were not so pretty and to allow me to love them regardless.
Kirstin, words cannot thank you enough. You have taught me that I can truly be ‘imperfectly brave' with everything that I face, now and in the future."
"Kirsten became such an important part of my life, almost from the moment I emailed her! I am eternally gratefully that she was able to find space for me and I was fiercely protective of this time in my calendar, which showed me just how highly valued our sessions were. They weren't always easy, moving through trauma isn't, but they were always safe and supportive and I inevitably felt better afterwards. When I arrived at the start of our time together, I thought I knew what I need to deal with but I learnt that really I just needed my voice to be heard and to accept myself with greater understanding of why I feel the way I do. Through her modelling of kindness, I learnt so much from Kirsten about how I should value my experiences (some I didn't even remember until being in session) and look back on my formative years with empathy and appreciation for what life was like - not feeling guilty for thinking that this wasn't a positive experience for me as a child. We worked through so much together and she was always flexible and responsive to what I needed at that point in time; often, she knew what I needed before I did. We touched on so many areas of life and I gained so many strategies which I can apply moving forward - life doesn't seem quite so scary anymore. I can't recommend the process of therapy highly enough and I am also incredibly grateful that I found Kirsten to work with. "
"I saw Kirstin practically every Thursday for 18 months. Over that time, Kirstin
helped me to understand what the underlying causes of my anxieties were, and
provided coping mechanisms so that I could effectively deal with them. Kirstin
listened attentively to my issues, detailing the complexities so that they could be
broken down into manageable parts. I found the process was sometimes
difficult, but often cathartic.
Kirstin was, at all times, empathetic, supportive, and non-judgemental. She was
entirely focussed on finding ways for me to overcome my deep-rooted anxiety.
It's going to be tough not to continue my sessions with Kirstin – I really enjoyed
our time together. I can't say I'm entirely cured, but I'm much better placed
now to deal with my issues."
"Kirstin has made such a huge impact in my life and I am so thankful that I took the courage to meet with her. She helped me figure out things that I never knew about myself, to heal and get through one of the most painful and challenging times in my life. She always made me feel comfortable and never judged me for feeling the way I did. I'm forever grateful and would recommend her to anyone seeking support. She's brilliant at what she does and makes the therapy journey easy to navigate."
“Kirstin is so lovely to work with. I immediately connected with her when I walked into her office. She is warm, kind and very professional. Kirstin is truly interested in her patients and showed a great deal of care for me. Working with her really helped me to improve in lots of ways in only sox months. If I need to go back to to counselling in the future, Kirstin will be the first person I think of when choosing a councillor! Thank you Kirstin.”
“Kirstin helped me immensely, I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a therapist with a warm, welcoming attitude.”
“Kirsten has has a compassionate and healing presence and hold a very safe space. She facilitated a successful navigation for me through a difficult period in my life.”
“Kirsten provided something I had been lacking in my life for a long time - a safe and reasonable listening ear. She was able to subtlety guide me towards what I really needed to explore, and provided genuine insight without criticism. Having worked with her, I feel far more able to understand why am I where I am, and how to improve myself in a positive way.”
